Without the Gnosis of the divine mysteries reserved for an elite, the divine Grace, which makes possible the Silence of the peace of a tranquil heart, would not be possible. And without inner silence, his Grace and thus his divine wisdom, would not descend from the eternal Father. With- out Grace there is no Gnosis, nor would there be Silence. Therefore, Gnosis, Grace, and Silence complement each other and are inseparable. This is the best way to define Gnosis: an inner state of Grace and Silence.
How true it is that “Gnosis lives in facts, withers away in philosophical abstractions, and is difficult to find even in the noblest of thoughts.” We can say Gnosis is an illuminated knowledge but this would be only one more concept; it’s quite close to the idea of a transcendental knowledge but Gnosis is only an experienceable truth when our inner Silence is illuminated by divine Grace.
